Welcome to De Montfort University American Football Team website. De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) was formerly part of a combined Leicester / De Montfort Longhorns team competing in the British Universities American Football League (BUAFL). After changes to league, this meant they could no longer be a combined team, and while the Leicester University Longhorns continued, the DMU students were left without a team for over 3 years.

In 2011 Anthony Yeboah and Jordan Jones, two DMU students with their love for the sport and a determination for playing founded the current DMU Team. With the support of our Students’ Union, Sports Coordinator Ross Harrison and a number of determined student athletes, the DMU AFT were started.

Due to the strong bond of American Football community in Leicester a merger was formed between DMU and Leicester Falcons, the Leicester BAFA team managed by Guy Kersey took us on board and entered us into their organisation and so we were named DMU Falcons. The DMU Falcons have been entered into the BUAFL 2011/12 season and the Varsity match against the Longhorns, which is sure to be a fans’ favourite.
